WORKSHOPS
Cecilia is an experienced creative writing facilitator and the winner of the 2021 Ruth Rendell award for services to young people’s literacy. As Young People’s Laureate for 2020/2021, she helped raise the visibility of poetry to London’s young people through performances, workshops and campaigns. She taught workshops to over 990 participants over the year, partnering with a range of charities and arts organisations. She performed to over 3520 young people and delivered online creative campaigns that reached over 120000 people.
EXPERIENCE
Cecilia is currently the lead tutor for The Roundhouse Poetry Collective , an intensive mentoring programme for young writers between the ages of 18-25.
She is also a faculty member at City Lit teaching on a range of adult courses including intermediate poetry and fiction.
She has taught both long and short term projects with partners such as:
Kingston, Kings, UCL, Loughborough and Huddersfield universities.
The Royal Court, The Lyric, Bristol Old Vic, The Brighton Dome, The Albany.
Sixth form and secondary schools nationally, including as a writer in residence for the writing charity First Story.
The Poetry Society, The Photographers Gallery, The South London gallery, The Foundling Museum.
Community Arts charities such as All Change, The Refugee Council, in prisons, community centres , youth centres, libraries and Great Ormond Street Hospital where she was poet in residence for two years.
She also delivers sessions in workplaces for staff wellbeing and CPD for teachers.
