"Rear View is British street theatre at its most ambitious and idiosyncratic"
I am currently working with established experimental theatre company IOU on a brand new and extremely ambitious outdoor theatre piece REAR VIEW which will tour this summer to a range of UK festivals. Visit the IOU website to view tour dates and locations. The Tour will begin at the Norfolk and Norwich Festival 25th-28th May 2017
I have been writing and developing this piece over the last year with fellow poet and theatre maker, Jemima Foxtrot.
Talking Doorsteps is a poetry film project coordinated by the Roundhouse. The aim of the project is to work with a wide range of young writers on the theme of 'Home'. British writers such as myself, travel to other countries to lead a week of workshops with emerging collectives of young people on the theme of home, generating content to be filmed and platformed digitally. The idea is to strengthen creative communities abroad, and create a global conversation about what Home means to different people by sharing stories and breeding empathy and understanding. In June 2017, poets who have taken part in Talking Doorsteps 2017 (hailing from Abu Dhabi, Honduras, Scotland and Hull, as well as young people who have experienced forced migration) will visit London for a culmination week where we will perform together, collaborate and strengthen the network of young writers that is being created globally. I will be leading on the facilitation of this week along with poets Debris Stevenson and Deanna Rodger and there will be plenty of opportunity to see what we have been working on. Get tickets for the showcase here and check out the other activities including workshops we will be running at the Roundhouse during their festival of Spoken Word 5th-11th June.
